Proposal tracking that shows what happens after you hit send

A PDF in an inbox tells you nothing. A ProposalCreation link tells you when the client opened it, which sections held their attention, whether it reached someone new and whether it has gone quiet. You follow up at the right moment, with the right topic, instead of asking whether the email arrived.

How proposal tracking works

  1. Send a link

every proposal goes out as a unique web link, and you can still attach a PDF if the client prefers one.

  2. Get notified

the owner gets an alert on the first open and on each return visit.

  3. Read the activity

the proposal page shows opens, time per section and viewers in one timeline.

  4. Follow up

reminders go out automatically for proposals nobody has opened, and you call with context for the ones that are being read.

Open notifications on every plan

Every plan tells you when a proposal is opened, how many times and on which day. The proposal list shows the last activity next to each document, so you see at a glance which proposals are live in the client's hands and which have not been touched.

Time spent on each section

From Growth up, you see how long the client spent on each section: executive summary, scope, timeline, pricing, terms. A long stay on pricing suggests a budget conversation, repeat visits to the scope suggest open questions, and a quick jump to the signature block means the decision is close. The rep prepares for the follow up call knowing what matters to the buyer.

  • Seconds and minutes per section
  • Return visits per section
  • Last section viewed before leaving

Forwarded views and automatic reminders

Business and Enterprise show forwarded views: when the link is opened by someone other than the original recipient, you see a new viewer appear. That often means the proposal has reached a decision maker. The same plans send automatic reminders for proposals nobody has opened, on the schedule you choose, so no proposal is forgotten in an inbox.

Team view of every proposal sent

Managers see tracking across the team in one list: owner, client, value, status, opens and signatures. Filter by teammate or client to find proposals waiting on a signature or never opened. With a CRM connected, opens and signatures also update the deal, as described on proposal software CRM integration.

Tracking that respects your clients

Tracking records activity on the proposal link only: opens, time per section, viewers and signatures. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, and you can export or delete it with the proposal at any time.

What proposal tracking changes

  • Follow ups happen when the client is engaged, not on a fixed calendar.
  • Calls start with the topic the client actually read.
  • Forwarded views reveal new stakeholders early.
  • Unopened proposals get reminders automatically.
  • Pipeline reviews rely on real activity, not hope.

Which plan includes proposal tracking

Plan Price billed annually Tracking
Starter $24 per month Opens
Growth $74 per month Opens and time per section
Business $149 per month Plus forwarded views and reminders
Enterprise $399 per month Same as Business

Monthly billing is $49, $149, $299 and $799. Seats included are 1, 5, 15 and 50.

Templates and pages related to tracking

Tracking is most useful on proposals with a decision to make, such as the business proposal template and the pricing proposal template. Sales teams combine it with deal sync in sales proposal software, and close in the same link with e-signature for proposals.

Frequently asked questions about proposal tracking

Does tracking work if the client downloads a PDF?

Tracking measures activity on the web link. A downloaded PDF can be read offline, so views inside the PDF file itself are not recorded.

Will the client know the proposal is tracked?

Tracking is described in our privacy policy, and it records only activity on the proposal link: opens, time per section, viewers and signatures.

Which plan shows time per section?

Growth, Business and Enterprise. Starter shows opens.

How do forwarded views work?

On Business and Enterprise, when the link is opened by a new viewer instead of the original recipient, the proposal timeline shows a forwarded view.

Can reminders be turned off for a proposal?

Yes. Automatic reminders on Business and Enterprise can be scheduled or switched off for each proposal.
